As an organization, STRATTEC places a high priority on forecasts and analysis. Previously, the company’s operations team was using an Access/spreadsheet tool that had been “cobbled together over 10 years,” said Steve Haessler, STRATTEC’s network technology manager.
When a critical third-party data provider updated its reporting output, STRATTEC’s system couldn’t adapt to the change. And without it, leaders were missing a core component of business intelligence.
Omni built a new sales forecasting system that simplified data capture, automating input that had previously been done manually. As part of the solution, Omni provided STRATTEC with a data warehouse that gave managers the opportunity to analyze information with greater depth and flexibility.
Omni also developed automated reports to quickly generate some of the common metrics STRATTEC’s leaders want to see. Other flexible reporting tools include directto- Excel output and the ability to drill down through line items or roll up for macro views across products and customers.
Using the sales forecasting software, STRATTEC can better predict product demand to improve scheduling, inventory and financial planning. The tool has generated significant time savings and provided valuable visibility into future demand.
