As an organization, ProHealth has made a strong commitment to clinical quality, through measuring quality care metrics reporting efforts. And while plenty of clinical information was being reported to public sources, the Pro Health physicians and participation in several voluntary – the people most in control of patient care quality – didn’t have a good way to access their own performance data.
Omni worked with ProHealth to develop the Physician Profile report, a business intelligence tool that
pulled data from ProHealth’s data warehouse and other reporting sources. For example, national quality measures for surgical care include benchmarks such as: “Patients given antibiotics within one hour before surgery,” and “Catheters removed on first or second day after surgery.” ProHealth collects data and reports on these and other care metrics.
Now, with the Physician Profile tool, doctors can view quality benchmarks specific to their own patients. The easy-to-read reports indicate whether patient care met basic thresholds, targeted goal measures or stretch goals.
Doctors also have the ability to click-through the interactive reporting tool to drill down to the individual patient level. This allows them to pinpoint where care fell below identified goals and gain some insight into which patients need to be followed up with and provide future insight into what might have affected care delivery.
In all, Bessler is pleased with the talent and thought-leadership Omni brought to the table.
